Ginger has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over thousands of years for treating cold, cough, weakness and stomach diseases.

A drink made with sliced ginger cooked in water with green onion roots and brown sugar is one of Chinese home remedies for cold and cough.
Three to four leaves of tulsi taken with a piece of ginger on an empty stomach is considered an effective cure for congestion, cough and cold.
In several studies, ginger worked just as well on morning sickness as the motion sickness drug marketed as Dramamine – without the drowsiness. Take 1,000 mg daily for a few days.
