Renzhong (Ren zhong, 人中) is an emergency acupuncture point in traditional Chinese medical system. It is the most-used “life-saving” (first-aid) point for acute emergencies, anaphylaxis, apoplexy, apnoea, asphyxia, cardiac arrest, coma, shock, syncope, disorders of the brain and cerebrum (CVA, convulsions), narcosis, and heat-stroke.

In Chinese folk therapy, Renzhong is a well known resuscitation acupressure point. In the above emergencies, no matter in humans or animals, to revive consciousness, you can use your nail of the thumb (or index finger) to press against the Renzhong and maintain the pressure until consciousness returns.
