Thyme can be used to fight against E. coli, scabies, lice, mosquito, mouth ulcer, candida and foot fungi.

Thyme has strong anti-fungal, anti-biotic, anti-septic, and anti-microbial properties. That may explain why ancient Egyptians used it as a preservative and an antifungal agent in their embalming fluids for ceremonies.

In a study of the antimicrobial properties of plant essential oils, researchers found that, amoung the 21 essential oils, thyme oil was one of the most inhibitory against 5 bacteria, including Salmonella and E. coli.

With aromatic qualities, thyme is used to repel insects. Ancient Greeks used it as incense. Scientists found that thyme essential oil is an effective mosquito and lice repellent.thyme-herb
