Thyme can be used to fight against E. coli, scabies, lice, mosquito, mouth ulcer, candida and foot fungi.


Thyme has strong anti-fungal, anti-biotic, anti-septic, and anti-microbial properties. That may explain why ancient Egyptians used it as a preservative and an antifungal agent in their embalming fluids for ceremonies.

In a study of the antimicrobial properties of plant essential oils, researchers found that, amoung the 21 essential oils, thyme oil was one of the most inhibitory against 5 bacteria, including Salmonella and E. coli.

With aromatic qualities, thyme is used to repel insects. Ancient Greeks used it as incense. Scientists found that thyme essential oil is an effective mosquito and lice repellent.

Thyme is also used as an external medicine to combat bacteria and fungi in human body, such as scabies, mouth ulcer, candida and fungi of toe and fingernails.

1. How to use thyme to combat E. coli, Salmonella and other bacteria:

Method 1:

– Dried thyme 30g (or fresh thyme 90g)
– Water 2 cups
– Bring to a boil, then immediately turn off the heat and leave for 10-20 minutes
– Strain
– Use the decoction to clean the kitchen, dishes, pots and pans

Method 2:

– Add a few drops of thyme essential oil in water
– Shake well to make an infusion
– Apply it as the method 1

2. How to use thyme to treat ulcers, scabies, candida and fungi:

You can use thyme infusion as a mouth wash for mouth ulcers, or use it to wash your toes, fingers and the affected area of your body to treat scabies, candida and fungi.

Method 1:

– Use some dried or fresh thyme to make a decoction
– Apply it to wash the affected area

Method 2:

– Add a few drops of thyme essential oil in water to make an infusion
– Apply it to wash the affected area

3. How to use thyme to combat insects:

You can use thyme to keep away insect pests, such as mosquitoes, fleas, lice, bed-bugs, beetles, and moths.

Method 1:

– Thyme essential oil 25 drops
– Water 2 cups
– Add the essential oil and water in a spray bottle
– Shake well
– Use it to repel insects – mosquitoes, fleas, lice, bed-bugs, beetles

Method 2:

– Boil some dried or fresh thyme to make a decoction
– Put it in a plant mister
– Spray around doorways, windows and any cracks in walls to help prevent insects, bugs from entering your house and bedroom

Method 3:

– Sprinkle thyme in a powdered form all around doorways, windows, cracks in walls, the edges of the mattress and furniture
