Cream of Tartar is used as a home and kitchen remedy to help treat high blood pressure, urinary tract infection, sore throat and arthritis.

Cream of Tartar (Potassium bitartrate, Potassium hydrogen tartrate) is an acidic salt that is most commonly used for baking and cooking purposes. Cream of tartar is best known for helping stabilize and give more volume to beaten egg whites. It is an ingredient in some brands of baking powder. Cream of Tartar is also used to give things a creamy texture in candy and frosting.

Cream of Tartar is a “natural product” obtained from the process of making wine. Grapes are the natural source of tartaric acid. Potassium bitartrate crystallizes in wine casks during the fermentation of grape juice. The crystals are collected and purified to produce the white, odorless, acidic powder used for many household purposes.cream-of-tartar
