Culver’s Root is used by native Americans to treat constipation, hepatitis, liver pain, jaundice and gallbladder disorders.

Culver’s Root (Veronicastrum virginicum, Leptandra virginica) is a perennial herb native to north America.

Culver’s root is used as a laxative to stimulate bowel movements and lead to rapid evacuation. Thus culver’s root can help stimulate digestion and encourage appetite, treat constipation and regulate functions of both the small and large intestines.

Culver’s root is also used as a liver tonic for liver or gallbladder disorders, and to promote bile flow from the gall bladder and bile ducts into the duodenum. Therefore culver’s root can help treat hepatitis, liver pain, jaundice, gallbladder disorders, and the accompanying symptoms, such as depression, dizziness, restlessness, insomnia and skin disorders.

Culver’s root has cleansing, blood purifying and nourishing properties. It is a good bowel cleaner, an effective blood purifier and a gentle liver tonic.
