Goldenrod is used for treating kidney stone, bladder stones, nephritis, cystitis and urinary tract infection.

Goldenrod (Golden rod, Solidago, Solidago canadensis, Solidago virgaurea) is a genus of flowering perennials in the family Asteraceae. Its golden yellow flower heads bloom in late summer. Goldenrods are edible when cooked. The leaves and flowers are used for making tea and herbal medicine.

Goldenrod has anti-inflammatory, diuretic, anti-oxidant, astringent and cleansing properties. Goldenrod is known to be effective for treating urinary tract inflammation and stones in kidney/bladder. Goldenrod contains the compounds called phenolic glycosides, which are anti-inflammatory and help reduce inflammation in the urinary tract and other parts of the body.goldenrod

Goldenrod is diaphoretic and diuretic, and can be used as a febrifuge. It is effective in the treatment of chronic sore throats, chronic congestion in the nasal passages as well as digestive disorders, such as diarrhea. The infusion of goldenrod is used to treat sore throat, toothache, fever, cold, and diarrhea.

Goldenrod is used to treat many disorders, but it is mainly used in the treatment of diseases of the kidney, bladder and urinary tract due to its diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties.

Why goldenrod can be used to treat problems in the lower body, such as urinary tract infections, but also be effective in treatment of upper respiratory problems, such as cold, sore throat, chest congestion, and lung infections? It may be also due to its diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties, which help reduce mucus and excess fluid in upper respiratory and lungs, and cool down the temperature of the body. That is why goldenrod can also treat cold, sore throat, fever, nasal and lung congestion. Taking goldenrod infusion or tincture, 2-3 times a day for a few days can help clear and open the chest, relieve chest congestion, colds and flu symptoms.
