Cumin is a warming herb, which works on stomach, kidney and liver. According to the traditional medicine guidelines, cumin can warm and stimulate digestive system, stomach, kidney and liver. It can generate and lead heat flow down to the cold areas in the body.

When you suffer from digestive disorders, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, caused or accompanied by coldness, cumin may help relieve and treat your symptoms.

To treat digestive disorders, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain:

1. Use cumin 3-6g, dried orange (or lemon, lime, grapefruit) peel 10g (or use fresh peel 30g);
2. Boil them for 10 minutes, collect the water extract into a container;
3. Add water, and boil the strained herbs for 15 minutes, collect the second water extract, and mix it with the first one;
4. Drink 1-2 cups when lukewarm, two times a day.

Precautions:

Cumin should not be used for any digestive disorders, abdominal pains and other pains accompanied by ‘hot’ symptoms, fevers and inflammation. Typically, using a warming herb for a ‘hot’ disease is like adding fuel to the fire. Essentially, cumin is beneficial in relieving and treating a cold pain.
