Chives can be used to stimulate appetite, ease stomach upset, reduce flatulence, clear a stuffy nose, and treat cold.

Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) are a member of the same botanical family as onions, scallions, and garlic. Chives are rich in vitamins A and C. They are eaten as vegetable and spice. Chives are often used as an ingredient for fish, eggs, potatoes, soups, and other dishes. Chives are used in traditional dishes in France and Sweden. Chives are used with pancakes, soups, fish and sandwiches. This herb is one of the fines herbes (chives, tarragon, chervil and/or parsley) of French cuisine. You may find fresh chives at vegetable markets.

Chives are also used as a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. Chives have similar effects as onion and garlic. Eating chives can help promote the appetite and digestion. You can also use chives to make a decoction to help treat stuffy nose, headache and common cold.
