There are three natural eye care remedies that can be used for improving eye vision: carrot, walnut and chamomile.

1. Carrot. Carrots are a wonderful source of carotenoids. Some of these carotenoids are converted to vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is needed for the production of rhodopsin, the visual pigment that is important for eyesight. Too little vitamin A can lead to chronic dry eyes and painful erosions of the cornea from excessive dryness. Without enough vitamin A, eye vision would be severely compromised. Eating carotenoid-rich sources such as carrots can help to prevent loss of night vision and keep the corneas moist and healthy. So eating carrots is a good nutritional move for eye care. Carrots should be consumed regularly for normal vision or for improving eyesight. It is suggested to drink a cup of carrot juice, or eat a fresh carrot per day, or 3 time per week.

2. Walnut. Walnuts are one of the best anti-aging foods. Walnuts have high amounts of protein and omega 3 fatty acids, which help to protect eye vision against eyesight decline due to aging and unsuitable eye use. They can be a very healthy snack for eye care. The suggested amount of walnuts about 10 halves per day.

3. Chamomile. Chamomile (or daisy) has effects of cleansing livers and eyes. Oriental medicine believes that there’s a connection between eyes and livers. Liver inflammation and deficiency of liver-blood could cause eye problems. Actually, many herbs that have effects of cleansing livers or increasing liver blood flow, are also effective for improving eyesight. According to the oriental medical theory, treating liver inflammation and cooling it down can help to treat dry, red, swollen and infected eyes. If you have liver and eye problems, drinking chamomile tea or daisy tea can help to improve both of your liver and eye conditions. It is suggested to drink the tea 2 times a day.
