Horny Goat Weed is a natural aphrodisiac that can be used to treat low libido (low sex drive), impotence (erectile dysfunction) and infertility for men.

Horny Goat Weed (Epimedium, Yin Yang Huo, 淫羊藿) is an aphrodisiac herb that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries to treat men’s problems, such as low libido (low sex drive), impotence (erectile dysfunction) and infertility.

Horny goat weed is traditionally used to increase fertility. Modern researches have proven that horny goat weed does have effects on improving sexual desire and performance, and increases sperm production. One study suggests that horny goat weed may improve quality of life in patients with renal failure on chronic hemodialysis.

The active ingredient in horny goat weed is icariin. Scientists believe that icariin increases levels of nitric oxide, which relaxes smooth muscle of penis and lets more blood flow to the penis. A research has demonstrated that injections of horny goat weed extract directly into the penis of the rat results in an increase in penile blood pressure. Researchers found that this herb appears to act by inhibiting the PDE-5 enzyme, which is the same way that Viagra works.

But the immediate effects of horny goat weed is not as strong as Viagra. If you want immediate effects in sexual performance, you may take Viagra, but if you want to fundamentally cure your sexual disorders, such as low libido (low sex drive), impotence (erectile dysfunction) and infertility, horny goat weed may help you.

Horny goat weed is available in form of capsules. You can find it in a local health supplement store.

Traditionally, horny goat weed is used to make a decoction:

– Horny goat weed 6-15 grams
– Water 2 cups
– Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes
– two times daily

Please note, horny goat weed is usually combined with other herbs to reduce its side effects and stengthen the effects. Do not use horny goat weed for patients with internal fire from yin (blood) deficiency.
