Fenugreek is an annual plant in the family Fabaceae. it has a very distinctive, curry-powder aroma and a three-leafed, clover-like shape. It is cultivated worldwide as a semi-arid crop, and its seeds are a common ingredient in dishes from the Indian Subcontinent.

How to use fenugreek for hair care

1. Fenugreek and yogurt as hair conditioner

Mix fenugreek seed powder with yogurt, apply the paste to the hair as hair conditioner, leave for 20-30 minutes. This makes your hair silky soft.

2. Fenugreek and coconut oil for hair loss, balding and graying

Soak 4 teaspoons of fenugreek seed powder in 2 cups of coconut oil (or olive oil). Keep it in refrigerator for a week. Then apply it onto the hair. Massage the oil into the hair and scalp. Cover with and leave on for 30 minutes or overnight. Use this treatment once a week for 3 months. This helps prevent hair loss, reduce balding, promote hair growth and delay premature graying of hair.

3. Fenugreek and lime for dandruff and hair falling

Use 2 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds and 1 lime (cut in slices). Boil them in 2 cups of water for 15 minutes, then apply it onto the hair. This helps reduce dandruff and hair falling.

4. Fenugreek and vinegar for dandruff

Boil 4 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds in 2 cups of vinegar for 10 minutes, or soak 4 teaspoons of fenugreek seed powder in 2 cups of vinegar for 1 week. Then apply it onto the hair. This helps reduce dandruff.
